They’re small — about 13 inches (33 cm) at the shoulder — and adapt well to both homes and apartments. They get along wonderfully with children and other pets. Beagles are known for their excellent sense of smell and natural curiosity. They are social and lively, though sometimes a bit stubborn. They also have a loud, powerful bark.
