How to Clean Your Puppy's Ears to Avoid Bad Odors

Healthy puppy ears shouldn't have a pungent smell. If you notice a yeasty odor, it's the first sign that cleaning is needed. Breeds with open or specific ear structures, such as the French Bulldog, require special attention because their anatomy makes them prone to dust and wax accumulation.

For safe cleaning, use only specific veterinary ear cleansers. Never use cotton swabs, as they can easily damage the ear canal. Instead, apply a few drops of the cleanser into the ear, gently massage the base, and then wipe the visible part of the ear flap with a clean cotton pad. Regular ear checks will help your pet stay fresh.
