Ask about the breeding decision

Responsible breeders should be able to explain why the parents were paired and what temperament, structure, or working qualities they hoped to preserve. Listen for a thoughtful answer rather than a sales pitch about rare colors.

Ask how the puppies are raised

Ask what happens after placement

A written contract should explain responsibilities, health terms, registration conditions, and what happens if the buyer can no longer keep the dog. Good support is clear before the sale, not promised only in conversation.
