He eats puppy food and is ready to move. As an adult, he’ll be a medium-sized dog, up to 15 inches (38 cm) tall and up to 75 lbs (34 kg). Basset Hounds were originally bred for hunting and still have strong scent instincts. They’re calm, affectionate, and loyal dogs with no aggression.
