She is completely healthy, has received all age-appropriate vaccinations, eats well, and loves to play. Basset Hounds are sturdy, muscular medium-sized dogs. They have large heads, expressive eyes, and a characteristic tricolor coat. Originally bred for hunting, they have an excellent sense of smell. These dogs are calm, well-balanced, and great with children and other pets, making them perfect for families. However, early training and socialization are recommended, as Basset Hounds have natural hunting instincts and may chase small animals. They require minimal grooming—occasional brushing is enough. However, they are known for their love of food, so their diet should be carefully managed to prevent overeating.
